There is only 3 options available for the size of database that is to be used in Football Manager 2008, Small, Normal and Large. However, there is a ‘hackable’ HUGE database, which is larger than Large.
Activating the HUGE database requires you to download this file, extract it to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\data, overwriting the original file. It is recommended that you backup the original file.
It may be good to have a HUGE database, making a larger pool of players available to you in the game. However, there downside to it. You will experience noticeable loading time as compared to the LARGE database.

Can i change my database size during a career? .. if the answer is “yes” please tell me how… tnks
Database is loaded during the game setup, so it is not effective even if u change the size of the database during the game.
U will have to create a new game with the adjusted database size.
I downloaded the file, extracted it into the required folder, backed up the old file, ofcourse, but I cannot select the ‘huge database’ option. In fact, it doesn’t even appears there, only the same small, normal and large.. Any idea why? Had anyone had this problem before?
Never mind, just found out what the problem was. Before you start a new game, untick the skin cache in Preferences -> Sound & Display and reload the skin. Now, when you star a new game you will see the ‘huge’ database option, if you didn’t have it before
I edited some player details for an English club in the database and now when I start a new game it wont let me choose any english clubs to manage and it has been removed from the nations list!
Is there anyway to solve this problem?
