Improving your Memory Stick performance on PSP

Recently, I formatted my 4 GB Memory Stick and it has since lagging and transfer speed is horrible.

1.7 GB of stuffs took 45 minutes to transfer.

The reason: The memory stick is formatted as FAT32 file system and it caused all the slow reading and writing problem. Formatting your memory stick in the PSP will result in the FAT32 file system, at least for my PSP Fat. I don’t have a PSP Slim to test it.

The fix: Format your memory stick as a FAT file system and it really improves in transfer speed, significantly.

All you need to do is to run Command Prompt. Window - R to open the Run Dialog and type “cmd” for the Command Prompt. To format the memory stick as FAT, type “format ms: /fs:fat”, where ms: is the memory stick drive.Screenshot

Before you do that, make sure you backup your SAVEDATA!

Completed Crisis Core!

Well, it’s a mixed feeling to complete this game. While I am sad to see that ending but I’m glad that I found out a lot of mysteries behind Final Fantasy VII. If you want to read the spoilers, click on the link to show the whole post so you can view it. Otherwise, just read this part.

Here is the screenshot for the main menu and 10 year anniversary flash.

I will say that the gameplay is decently fast, due to the fact that this is not a turn-based RPG, unlike the original Final Fantasy VII. Digitally remastered character looks superbly good, especially during the CG movies. Summons are very realistic. The music and voices are also very good. There are new music by Ayaka and the famous FFVII music also. Overall, it is a very good game, even for non-FF fans.

There is a alot of missions available, so if you are rushing to complete it. You can do the missions after you complete the game.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (English) released!

Finally, after months of waiting. Crisis Core has officially released in English.

Any avid Final Fantasy VII fan will be waiting for this game to be released. The game featured a SOLDIER named Zack. In the original Final Fantasy VII game, he was only a only memory in the main character, Cloud, and of course his lover, Aerith.

Crisis Core set before the original Final Fantasy VII, and it does went into the time line of the original. Several mysteries you might be wondering about may be explained through this game.

GameSpot has rated Crisis Core 9.0! Highest score given to any PSP games, making it the second game after Patapon to gain the Editor’s Choice. IGN has given 8.5.

I will be waiting for the remake of Final Fantasy VII on PS3. If it is officially announced to be remake, I’m gonna get PS3.

Patapon: How to get Rain Miracle Guide

Are you stuck at the Desert mission in Patapon? Having difficulty in crossing the blazing burning hot desert that will cook your patapons alive?

In order to cross the Desert, you will need to be able to perform “Rain Miracle”.

Firstly, you need to get a key item called “Rain Miracle” from the Patata Plain, where you hunt for food for your patapons.

You will need to get close (about 1 marching pace away from the “Chaka Pon Chaka Pon” totem and perform “chaka, pon, chaka, pon” rhythm until the totem stands up revealing its root, then you continue the rhythm.

Here is a Youtube video on how to get your “Rain Miracle”:

You will have a new map after you get your “Rain Miracle”, and you will need to kill a boss to get the “Don Drum”.It’s a tough boss as it eats your Tatepons, so be careful.
