According the this article from Gamespot, and the official Crisis Core website, the new PSP - Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core Edition bundle, is going to release on 13 September, along with the Japanese version of Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core. So in the near future, we will be seeing the arrival of Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core (English version). I guess the Final Fantasy fans are tired of waiting for the first of remake of the legendary Final Fantasy VII. Gone were the blocky and short Cloud and Tifa. Characters in the new Final Fantasy VII series is simply too attractive.
The new Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core PSP bundle is made up of the new redesigned silver PSP-2000 (I believe so), a unique serial number, Crisis Core PSP game (hurray!) and a keychain shaped like the sword of the game’s hero, Zack.
The Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core PSP bundle will be available in Japan only, with only 77,777 sets on the shelves for purchase, to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of the Final Fantasy VII franchise. Each bundle costs 25,890 yen.
Sony announced a highly anticipated redesigned PSP during their E3 2007 press conference. No PSP2, just a slimmed down version to the current one available in the market.

The main difference that you can spot is the thickness of the console. The new PSP is slimmer and lighter than the previous. The new battery has lower capacity than the old one, but is capable to running the new PSP with battery life similar to the old one as Sony has decreased the power usage of the new PSP. You can still use the old battery on the new PSP, it will almost double the battery life, but you will not be able to cover the battery with the new battery cover.
Other redesign parts includes the new spring-less UMD drive, repositioned speaker holes above the d-pad and button areas, new remote jack, slightly shifted memory stick slot, Wi-Fi switch is moved to the top left corner of the console.
The new redesign PSP features a new video output that will allow PSP to output gameplay, movies, videos and photos to a TV with the component cable.
The new PSP has 64 MB of built-in RAM, doubled of the 32 MB the old PSP has. And the new PSP can be charged via USB.
New stuffs are always better than the old one. This is what I like about the new PSP:
- USB charging; there will be no need to bring you bulky charger around, just bring a USB cable will do.
- More RAM; Speed up loading time. More time to play!
- Lighter and slimmer; You will not feel tired even playing for a long time.
What do you think of the new PSP?
Recently I have just blog about this topic on sale of PS3 and Wii.
According the the Japanese analysts, 270,974 Wii was sold in the month of June as compared to the 41,628 PS3 sold in the same month.
Since the launch of Wii in Decemeber, 2.76 million of Wii is reported sold in Japan alone. Less than a million PS3 was sold since its launch in Novemeber last year.
The unexpected sale figure of PS3 is mainly due to the lack of blockbuster games and its hefty price. With games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII and Grand Theft Auto IV in development stage, PS3 has no pull-factor to attract gamers to buy the console. Wii, on the other hand, has much more fun factor then PS3 currently. Revolutionary controller and gameplay design, make one wants to try his/her hand on it. Last but not least, Wii is much cheaper than PS3.
