I just touched on the open beta of Lineage II for South East Asia, and I will give a short review on the game.
Since this game was developed in year 2004, graphics technology was outdated. With your GeForce 6 series or Radeon 9000 series, I guess you can turn on all the details.
Secondly, the interface of Lineage II was similar to many “free” MMORPGs such as Silkroad Online. You can get used to the interface straight away if you are a WoWer before. The interface also lacks the attractiveness, the buttons do not have colours.
Game experience is ok, as they are not many players currently, the latency is not very high.
Overall, it is a game that might attract the non-WoWer. However, it is still on a beta stage, things can be improved.
This may be a old news, but I have just encountered it.
Lineage II is currently on open beta in the South East Asia Region. Lineage II is a MMORPG that was available in the western countries in year 2004, only a few Asians play it.
In case you do not know about Lineage II, check this out. It will give you some brief ideas of Lineage II.
If you want to try out, you can proceed to download the installation files, 5 parts in total, weighs about 3 GB.
Then you need to register yourself with a Lineage II account here.
I going to try it out. I will post some screenshots and my review.

Grando Espada, the new MMORPG that rocks the non-WoW players, has gone P2P (Pay to Play).
The 2006 Korean Game of the Year, came to Singapore as well as other South-East Asia countries just few months ago. If you guys are one of the fanatics, this is a bad news for the non-willing-to-pay gamers.
Yes, IAHgames has announced the new business model for the popular Grando Espada. The game will go on a “hybrid P2P (Pay to Play) business model”.
The minimum cost to play this game is much lower than World of Warcraft. With SGD$9.90/P300/RM$20/USD$5.60, you can play for a month. However, if you buy a much longer gameplay time, the subscription per month will be significant lesser.
For example, if you buy the 1 year unlimited GVC/Box at USD$40.00, the subscription per month is USD$3.33, which is 40.5% lower.
The game went P2P for these reasons:
- Influx of players who have no real interest in playing the game in a proper way.
- Overloading of servers, causing high latencies and frequent disconnections to all players
- Ineffcient Customer Service due to high volumes of queries
- As usual, gold farmers are one of the spoilers in any MMORPG.
